The Sebastopol Aabf-2017-posterpple Blossom Festival is held every year as a celebration of spring, and the blooming of the apple trees historically cultivated in Sebastopol. Though apple production has waned over the past several decades, the culture has remained and provides a wonderful reason for a truly local festival. This year’s event will be the 71st and will be held on Saturday April 22nd and Sunday April 23rd. Kicked off with a parade on Saturday morning, the festival will be filled with fun including live music, crafts for kids, local vendors, and food and refreshments. An art show will also be held to showcase the work of local artists. With the rise in popularity of hard ciders, many of which are now produced in Sebastopol, we may even see a return to the times when apples were the primary crop produced around Sebastopol. Whatever happens, though, the Apple Blossom Festival is sure to be filled with fun, this year and in the years to come.
