April Restaurant of the Month- Flavor Bistro

Flavor Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Rosa! I would recommend trying the Pear Bruschetta which has Organic Pear, Mascarpone & Gorgonzola Mousse, Toasted Walnuts, and Organic Greens. This mouthwatering appetizer is the perfect start to any meal. Be sure to also try the Sweet Potato Gnocchi with Gorgonzola, White Wine, Cream, & Parmesan Cheese. Flavor Bistro is the perfect stop for dinner before enjoying the rest of your night on the town as it is perfectly located right in Downtown Santa Rosa. We hope you enjoy this fabulous stop just as much as we have!

April Winery of the Month- Quivira Vineyards and Winery

At Getaway Adventures we strive to do our best to be as eco friendly as possible. Which is why Quivira Vineyards is an obvious choice for us to choose as our winery of the month for April. Not only is this a beautiful stop along the Dry Creek Wine Road that our guests rave about over and over, but Quivira Vineyards is also an organic and Biodynamic winery and farm. You can even reserve a tour of the one-acre garden as well where you will see over 50 chickens, 120 raised vegetable beds and one of their Biodynamic beehives. After your tour enjoy a tasting of the wonderful wines that Quivira has to offer and take in the beautiful scenery of the Dry Creek Valley. You can check out Quivira Vineyards online here

April Wine of the Month- McKenzie-Mueller Malbec

One of our new favorite wines here at Getaway Adventures is McKenzie-Mueller’s Malbec. It has strong exotic fruit flavors of blueberries and blackberries, with guava and mango tastes as it ferments. One of its most unusual qualities is that its aroma is similar to a Gewurztraminer, a spicy white wine, but its color is deep purple and its tannins and weight are similar to Merlot. Feel free to visit McKenzie-Mueller anytime at their fabulous winery located at 2530 Las Amigas Road in Napa to try some of their wine yourself! You can also visit them online here

March Restaurant of the Month- Celadon Napa

Celadon Restaurant in Napa is one of my new favorite restaurants in wine country! Just last night I enjoyed an absolutely wonderful meal with my boyfriend for my birthday. We had dinner outside in their covered patio right next to the fireplace. It was just perfect for the two of us. Our waiter Sean was fabulous! He was very attentive and helped us to choose the best wines to pair with our dinners. I ordered the crispy duck breast with sweet potatoes, stir fried vegetables, and blood orange-ginger sauce, and my boyfriend ordered the Moroccan inspired braised lamb shank with golden raisin and toasted almond couscous. Both dishes had very large portions, which I was pleasantly surprised by. For dessert we ordered the special espresso brulee which came out with a little candle for my birthday! This would be one restaurant that I would recommend every wine country tour guest visit during their Napa Valley vacation.

March Winery of the Month- Buena Vista Winery

This historic Sonoma Valley winery is one of our favorite stops for our wine tour guests. With beautiful architecture and absolutely wonderful wines we recommend this winery stop for anyone interested in a Sonoma Valley tour. Everyone here is more than accommodating and they are willing to work with groups both large and small. So, don’t forget to add Buena Vista to your list of must see wineries during your wine country visit.

Located in the beautiful town of Calistoga in the gorgeous Napa Valley this hotel has so much to offer guests visiting wine country. This fabulous hotel is a top stay for Getaway Adventures guests, and we always hear nothing but positive reviews. Mount View Hotel also offers top spa services as well as a luxurious hotel. So, if you are looking for a nice relaxing massage during your Napa Valley stay this is the place to go. This hotel also offers a great location for the many fabulous restaurants in downtown Calistoga. With so much to offer, it’s no wonder this is one of the top hotels in the area!

March Wine of the Month- Laird Family Estate 2010 Ghost Ranch Pinot Noir

The deep red velvet color paves the way for bright red fruit on the nose and palate. Aromas of hibiscus flower, cherry, and molasses are complemented by a complex palate of strawberry, red cherry, pomegranate, spicy cinnamon and a subtle earthiness. Elegant and refined, this Pinot Noir has a lingering finish that is quite pleasing.

Restaurant of the Month Brasserie

One of my favorite Santa Rosa restaurants is the Brasserie at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek. They have great breakfast, lunch, and dinner at this wonderful establishment, and each meal is more delicious than the last. I love to go out for a Sunday brunch and my favorite breakfast item to order is the Dungeness Crab Cake Benedict. It is absolute heaven! I recommend you check this restaurant out as soon as possible as you will want to continue to go again and again! Wine of the Month Zichichi Wines 2009 Old Vine Zin

This 2009 Old Vine Zin comes from handpicked vines that are 80 years old. The wine is garnet colored with hints of jammy flavored raspberry and red cherry. This is a fabulous wine for either sitting around drinking on it’s own or pairing with a hearty meal. This is our top wine of the month for January and we hope you all enjoy it too.
