Getaway Adventures is the original bike tour company in Napa Valley and Sonoma County. All employees and guides are local to the area and have expertise on wine, restaurants, history, flora, fauna and the best trails and roads to share with you. If you are comparing tour companies, ask the others if they are local to the area and how long they have been in business.
Getaway Adventures has been in business since 1991 with the same owners, and has long standing relations with many hotels and wineries that other companies cannot match. We strive to be the best touring company in the area and promise you will have made the right choice in going on tour with us. Our goal is to be an environmentally friendly, local tour company that educates our guests on wine and the area and gives you a chance to smell the roses (and zinfandel) and get some exercise too!
We work with all the major hotels in Napa from The Calistoga Ranch to the Meritage Resort and everyone in between
We have more Trip Advisor 5-star reviews than any other bike tour company in the region.

Beautiful! It normally does not rain from the beginning of May to the end of October or November. The mornings can be foggy, but not cold. Our summer highs vary from the 70′s – 90′s and we have low humidity. We do go on tour rain or shine because we always expect it to be sunny!
-
Your guides work hard to provide you with an excellent tour experience, interesting wine facts, and a delicious gourmet lunch. We suggest that you tip $20-$30 per guest for day tours. For multi-day tours we recommend 10% of the total tour price.

Bike Tour
Wear comfortable, breathable clothes you can ride in. Layers are best as the mornings can be cooler than the rest of the day. Tennis shoes or similar shoes are great. If you decide to wear pants, please be aware that your right leg will need to be rolled up or cinched about the pants leg to make sure the bike chain does not eat your pants. Don’t forget your sunglasses, sun block and camera!
Kayak Tour
Wear clothes you do not mind getting wet in. Bathing suits, shorts and t-shirts are best. River shoes or sandals like Tevas are perfect. Don’t forget retainers for your sunglasses, a hat, and we’ll bring the sun block! For more details check out our blog post, Russian River Kayaking: What to Wear?

Wine tasting fees vary from $15 to $45 per person per winery. In most cases you can share a taste (one glass) with another member of your group and many wineries will reimburse your tasting fee if you make an additional purchase or join the wine club.

If you want a higher level of difficulty and more miles, please let us know so we can make the arrangements with your guide!
You may also opt for our Velo ‘N Vino bike tour for a more spirited ride (25 to 40 miles or so).

You can either rent a car for the week or use public transport options. The San Francisco and Oakland airports have shuttle services which are a quick and comfortable way to get you up to Santa Rosa for the start of the Premiere Trip. We recommend the Sonoma County Airport Express an on the hour shuttle service. We can also work with you to set up private transportation, available for a 2 person minimum starting at $100 per person. Once you have arrived in Santa Rosa we will pick you up for your bike fitting.
